Update: The SPCA of Westchester‘s Humane Law Enforcement has arrested Michelle DiGennaro of Mohegan Lake and charged her with animal cruelty for failing to provide adequate food, water and veterinary care for Boomer.

Boomer’s Story: When our SPCA of Westchester’s Humane Law Enforcement Unit was called in to investigate an emergency situation of a starving dog, what we found has us heartbroken. This poor senior hound/cattle dog mix, now named Boomer, is suffering from horrible neglect and has allegedly been locked in an outdoor enclosure for months. He is malnourished and weighs less than half of what a healthy dog his size should, weighing in at only 24 lbs. upon arrival.

You can see in this video how happy Boomer is when he realizes he’s safe at the SPCA and how responsive he is to our affection.

Boomer can barely walk-his nails are severely overgrown and he suffers from untreated luxating patella’s and arthritis. His ears are so infected he can’t go more than a few seconds without shaking his head to try and ease his pain.

Please GIVE to our Mend a Friend Fund today to support Boomer on his road to recovery. Help him receive the urgent medical care he so desperately needs so that he can have the second chance at life he deserves. We can’t do it without compassionate friends like you.
